'I have a jaded view on sex work because of my Mom. If it's really okay, why did she have to lie about it most of my life? I feel like I never really knew her.'

'It was bad enough when they found out that she was a prostitute,' he said. 'If they would have actual video evidence to confront me with, I don't think I would have made it.
'The only way I was able to cope with it as it was, was to just acknowledge that she was a prostitute and not get worked up when other kids would talk about what they did with her last night.'
Another spoke of how someone he knew had found his mother in porn videos: 'She has multiple videos. With a guy who is not his dad. All from within the last 2-3 years.

'Since everyone always asks: No, there weren't abusive boyfriends all the time. She didn't really date, but one bf [boyfriend] was nice and fairly normal. They broke up for the usual incompatibility reasons, not because she was in porn.
'She was not a drug addict. She was just struggling as a single mom when my dad died and had to do what she could. No, I'm not embarrassed. Most everyone I tell thinks it's cool then I have to explain childhood was normal, she was a good mom, she wasn't a drug addict, etc.'
